We Believe in Continuous Improvement

At NSC, we are committed to eliminating preventable deaths in the workplace, at home and in our communities, and on the road. We are able to set such lofty goals because we have the expertise, the dedication and, most importantly, the people who make all of our various initiatives achievable.

We are so proud of what we were all able to accomplish in 2016. While the highlights on these pages may surprise you, hopefully they will inspire you to keep each other safe.

You will notice that this year’s annual report looks rather different than in years past. At NSC, we believe in continuous improvement, and in that spirit I hope you enjoy this year’s streamlined report. Along with our new web-based version, our 2016 Annual Report gives you a sense of our commitment to all things safety and our passion for preventing fatalities at work, at home and everywhere in between.

Thank you for all you do to keep each other safe,

Yours,
Deborah A.P. Hersman, NSC President and CEO

Homes and Communities

In Homes & Communities

The National Safety Council wants to help you stay safe in all areas of your life. We have researchers and statisticians working to keep you up to date on the best ways to keep each other safe.

On the Roads

On the Road

Nobody knows driver safety training like the people who pioneered it over 50 years ago. Today, NSC champions Distracted Driving Awareness Month, leads the Road to Zero Coalition and created the first online consumer resource for advanced vehicle technology.
