SAFETY IN HOMES AND COMMUNITIES

A central element of the Council’s data-driven approach is to help people understand the hazards most likely to cause injury. We often fear lightning strikes and plane crashes, but NSC research shows incidents occurring at home and in the community account for 72% of all preventable injury-related deaths.

By sharing information and recommendations on how to minimize everyday hazards, the Council helps people mitigate those risks to make home a truly safe place to be.
