With safety being a key value for employees, this year NSC employees were tasked with setting individual safety goals. This included conducting office inspections, chair-side ergonomic assessments, working with our Emergency Preparedness Committee to increase first aid training, Stop the Bleed training, customer service paging training and emergency preparedness drills.\n
After experiencing two calendar years (2017 and 2018) and over 1 million hours without a recordable incident, NSC recorded 4 on-the-job injuries during 2019. Our 2019 incident rate increased to 1.5, with 1.3 being the average recordable rate for the professional and business services industry sector.\n
As a mission-driven nonprofit organization, revenue from our programs, services and philanthropic donations goes right back into our advocacy work so we can help people live their fullest lives. For a breakdown of our financials, please check out the NSC 2019 Statement of Financial Position and NSC 2019 Statement of Activities and Changes in Net Assets.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text]\n NSC compiles Injury Facts®, the definitive guide on preventable deaths and injuries in the United States for nearly 100 years, now online!\n As a nonprofit organization, philanthropy generates new opportunities and sustains our relentless focus in making our world safer, from the workplace to anyplace.\n
In 2019, NSC received nearly $4 million in philanthropic contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations who want to make a difference. These funds support research to identify leading causes of fatalities, education to increase awareness and minimize risks and advocacy to ensure the adoption of safety and accident prevention measures.\n
