- Increased funding for grant programs through the MSD Solutions Lab, powered by Amazon, receiving nearly $300,000 to support MSD prevention through technology solution piloting and other research initiatives
- Garnered over 40 bipartisan cosponsors for the WORK to Save Lives Act from the U.S. House of Representatives and one from the Senate while working with state legislators in MA to introduce a state version of the Act, which would require opioid overdose reversal medications in federal buildings to address the nation’s opioid crisis.
- Served over 300,000 professionals through Work to Zero, funded by the McElhattan Foundation, helping to make safety technology innovation more accessible to businesses
- Supported the implementation of workplace naloxone legislation in IL, VA and CA through meetings and advocacy efforts
- Advocated against eliminating the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during Congressional committee hearings, highlighting its importance in curtailing the overdose epidemic
- Drafted and submitted comments to federal agencies on workplace safety policy areas including a Drug Enforcement Administration request for comments on cannabis rescheduling and an OSHA Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on heat injury illness and prevention
- Contributed to the White House Challenge to Save Lives from Overdose, resulting in NSC resources on opioid overdose reversal and workplace naloxone policies being featured on the White House website following meetings with the Domestic Policy Council
- Secured a bipartisan House Committee on Appropriations Dear Colleague letter with 18 signatories, supporting the placement of naloxone in federal public buildings
- Created new resources through Work to Zero, funded by the McElhattan Foundation in partnership with Verdantix, to enhance the Work to Zero ROI calculator tools that help businesses justify investments in life-saving workplace technology

- Released Accounting for Non-Physical Risk Factors in MSD Prevention through the MSD Solutions Lab and an accompanying infographic exploring the impact of organizational, psychosocial and behavioral risk factors in workplace musculoskeletal disorders, as well as solutions for risk mitigation
- Coordinated a webinar with the Respond Ready Workplace program and USDOL Employment and Training Administration on navigating naloxone in the workplace
- Provided Safety Innovation Challenge Pilot Project through Work to Zero, exploring height risk mitigation with Matroid’s computer vision technology
- Developed a new resource, The Intersection of DEI and MSDs, through the MSD Solutions Lab, examining the intersection between diversity, equity and inclusion and workplace-related musculoskeletal disorders
- Released the MSD Solutions Index Pledge Community through the MSD Solutions Lab, which explores results from the second annual MSD Solutions Index, highlighting survey results and recommendations to help organizations advance their MSD prevention efforts
- Released 22 resources to assist organizations with naloxone adoption for their workplace emergency preparedness or first aid programs, including the Opioid Overdose Response Program Implementation Guide
- Published Safety Technology 2024: Examining Trends in Technology Solutions Used to Reduce Serious Injuries and Fatalities in the Workplace through Work to Zero, which reexamines top workplace hazards and how adopting innovative technology can mitigate risks
- Partnered with Schneider Electric to develop two impactful case studies through the MSD Solutions Lab highlighting practical solutions for MSD prevention: Effective Use of Injury Prevention Specialists and Implementation of Wearable Sensor Technology
- Collaborated with John Deere to develop Effective Use of Powered Cart Movers, a case study highlighting powered cart pushers as an effective solution to reduce exertions from pushing and pulling materials
- Published Utility of Artificial Intelligence for Risk Reduction of Musculoskeletal Disorders through the MSD Solutions Lab, emphasizing AI’s potential for MSD prevention
- Presented work at six academic conferences and 11 invited presentations and interviews to highlight research and innovations from the MSD Solutions Lab
- Partnered with five pilot project safety technology providers through Work to Zero to evaluate workplace technology implementation impacts and produce case studies that will support future safety professionals
- Issued the fifth State of the Response report from the SAFER Initiative highlighting COVID-19’s lingering effects, including Long COVID Syndrome and mental health issues among workers, completed with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Educated approximately 400 professionals through seven Work to Zero webinars, advancing critical safety technology information in the fight to eliminate workplace fatalities by 2050
- Released case studies documenting best practices for indoor air quality and psychological safety in the aftermath of COVID-19, completed through the SAFER initiative with funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

- Hosted the two-day 2024 Virtual HOP Summit for safety professionals to advance Human and Organizational Performance principles, connect with industry peers, and learn from field leaders without the travel constraints of an in-person event.
