  • Awarded the Distinguished Service to Safety Award, the most prestigious award given to individuals by NSC, to Pat Cunningham of Cummins Inc., Bob McCall of Master Builders’ Association of Western Pennsylvania, Peter Hancock of the University of Central Florida and Donna M. Siegfried of the National Safety Council (retired)
  • Awarded the Marion Martin Award to Maude Taylor McGraw of Cummins, Inc. and Violet Marrero of NJM Insurance Group
  • Awarded the Green Cross for Safety Advocate Award, sponsored by First Transit | First Student, to the Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) War Room for its successful advocacy toward the passage of legislation requiring drunk driving prevention systems in new cars
  • Awarded the Green Cross for Safety Excellence Award, sponsored by UPS, to U. S. Steel for improving the safety of trucks and loaders through new technologies
  • Awarded the Green Cross for Safety Innovation Award, sponsored by Amazon, to Fatigue Science for its innovating fatigue prediction technology
  • Recognized Jerry Landau with the Robert F. Borkenstein Award for his leadership, dedication, knowledge and expertise in the criminal justice and legislative communities, allowing him to save lives by advancing safety policies and practices that prevent drug and alcohol impairment
  • Awarded the first NSC Diversity in Safety Scholarships, thanks to a generous gift from an anonymous donor, to Ashley Craddock of the University of Central Missouri, Leila Ruggs of North Carolina A&T State University, Garrett Washington of American University and Emmanuel Winful of Auburn University
  • Awarded the Lorraine Pack Memorial Scholarship, founded by Laura Fiffick and Brittany Westphal, to Karena O’Bryan of Murray State University
  • Awarded Women in Safety Scholarships, supported by UPS and an anonymous donor, to Royce L. Bird of Montana Technological University, Olivia Metzger of Columbia Southern University, Callie Ruppen of the University of Akron and Bridget Mya Womack of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater
